An afternoon in Seattle with gita

Coffee shop edition

Seattle is a haven for coffee enthusiasts—with about 56 coffee shops per 100,000 people, it holds the second place title for most coffee shops in a U.S. city (Boston being #1). Seattleites consume more coffee than any other American city so it’s no wonder that Seattle neighborhoods are steeped in coffee culture.

With so much to explore and do around Seattle, it’s easy to turn a casual coffee run into an afternoon full of neighborhood fun—especially with gita following along carrying all your gear and locally made treats you pick up along the way.

We’ve rounded up some of the must-visit coffee shops in a few of our favorite Seattle neighborhoods with little guides on how gita can help take your outing to the next level.

Anchorhead Coffee—Downtown Seattle
CenturyLink Plaza, 1600 7th Ave # 105
Modern coffee shop vibe, friendly & knowledgeable staff
Unique drink to try: Lavender latte

Make it an afternoon of ‘me’ time with gita—

  • Grab a cup of coffee at Anchorhead, and then pop over to Ghost Gallery to view some local art and jewelry. While you’re there, pick up a bottle of wine (gita will gladly carry it!) to enjoy with a bath after your day out.

  • Swing by Pike Place Chowder and grab a bowl to-go, take it over to Pier 62 and post up on a bench to eat your lunch looking out at the tranquil bay views while listening to your favorite tunes on gita’s Bluetooth® speaker.

  • End the trip with a stop at the Seattle Selfie Museum and have a little photoshoot with gita.

Herkimer Coffee—Phinney Ridge
7320 Greenwood Ave N
Contemporary, casual setting with fast, efficient service
Unique menu item to try: Bacon-infused parmesan scone

Make it an active afternoon out with gita & a friend—

  • After having coffee and breakfast at Herkimer, head over to the tennis court on Great Lake Trail for a little outdoor workout—gita can carry the tennis rackets, balls, bottles of water, towels, a few changes of clothes (everything you’d need).

  • Once you’ve worked up a sweat, toss all your gear back in gita and walk over to the West Green Lake Beach where you can take a swim or just cool off on the sand.

  • Head over to Bongos for a late lunch and drinks. With plenty of outdoor seating and a casual beachy vibe, you won’t need to worry about having come directly from the beach.

Zoka Coffee Roaster—Meridian
2200 N 56th St #6204
Boutique coffee shop with amazing food
Unique drink to try: Aztec mocha

Make it an afternoon date to remember with gita—

  • After fueling up for the day with a tea or coffee and breakfast at Zoka, head just a few blocks over to Green Lake Pitch & Putt for a round of 9-course golf—gita can act as your caddy.

  • Take a romantic stroll through Woodland Park (with gita carrying your stuff, you’re free to do as much hand holding as you like) and have lunch over at Ada’s restaurant & bar, a quaint neighborhood restaurant featuring modern cuisine.

  • Head back to the park and spend the rest of the afternoon exploring Woodland Park Zoo, gita can carry all the treasures you pick up at their first-rate gift shop that sells handcrafts from all over the world.

Caffe Ladro—Fremont
452 N 36th St
Modern coffeehouse featuring sustainable beans & baked goods
Unique drink to try: Grande medici

Make it a day of fun & games with gita—

  • After a coffee and scrumptious baked good (may we recommend the raspberry scone), head a couple doors down to Add-a-Ball, a bar and arcade boasting the largest collection of vintage coin-operated arcade machines in the city—gita can carry the coins.

  • Pop over next door to LTD Bar & Grill, a family and dog friendly neighborhood sports bar with an outdoor patio, 12 beers on tap, alcoholic slushies, darts, shuffleboard, giant jenga, beer pong, and Playstation 4.

  • Take a walk over to Fremont Canal Park and enjoy the water views down the Burke-Gilman Trail and take a pit stop at the Fremont Dinosaurs, a topiary sculpture garden.
